What Revin is
Revin is an educational software tool that lets you study, test, and optimize trading-indicator settings and hypothetical strategies against historical spot-Bitcoin market data (“backtesting”). It is a research and learning environment. Revin cannot place trades, access or hold your money, or connect to any exchange. It is an analysis tool, not a broker, exchange, or adviser.
No financial advice
Nothing on or produced by Revin — including backtest results, optimizer outputs, “best” or recommended parameters, indicators, charts, scores, or any other content — is financial, investment, tax, legal, or trading advice, a recommendation, an endorsement, or a solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Andrew Bergthold is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, commodity trading advisor, or financial planner, and does not provide personalized advice. Revin is general and impersonal: it works identically for every user and uses only the parameters and data you select. Optimizer outputs describe how settings fit the historical data you chose — not what you should trade.
Hypothetical & backtested results have limits
Backtested and simulated results are hypothetical. They are computed with the benefit of hindsight, do not represent actual trading, and do not account for all real-world factors — fees, spreads, slippage, liquidity, execution timing, or market impact. Optimized parameters can be overfit to past data and may perform very differently in the future. Past performance — actual or simulated — is not indicative of, and does not guarantee, future results.
Market & data risk
Trading digital assets such as Bitcoin is highly speculative and risky, prices are volatile, and you can lose some or all of the money you put at risk. Market data may contain errors, gaps, or delays, and calculations may contain errors; we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data, result, or output.
